The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) is a UK Charity dedicated to making Britain a greener place through sharing gardening knowledge and raising awareness of how horticulture can enrich our lives. It currently has four sites, and in 2019, began developing their fifth garden located in lost historic grounds at Worsley New Hall in Salford, Greater Manchester.

This 154-acre site, featuring a gothic-style mansion, expansive green space and a lake, will be fully restored and regenerated by 2020 and expects to attract over half a million visitors. To accommodate such significant footfall, a newly designed Welcome Building and entrance has been constructed, where visitors will queue and make payment.

To safely manage crowds, contain guests, prevent unauthorised access and ensure that foot traffic is directed toward the correct direction, the RHS required a specialised demarcation solution. Being in a customer-facing environment, any demarcation also had to be welcoming and discreet as it was effective.

The RHS chose our resilient VGuard mesh – complete with extra-long posts for securing in uneven ground – to fence off their Welcome Building area. We also powder coated the fencing in RHS green for a hospitable, on-brand look and feel that matched its surroundings and complemented the environment.

As a fellow British business, we’re proud to be part of the RHS’s commitment to making the UK a greener place by making it possible for even more visitors to discover and experience spaces of horticultural excellent.
