Essex and Suffolk Water supplies 1.8 million customers across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Greater London with clean water and related services. They were recently required to install a new type of demarcation at their water treatment works, due to Water UK updating their Standard for Security Arrangements for Operational Assets (SSAOA) – the benchmark for safe water regulation.

With such severe public health implications should water supply be contaminated, it’s critical that Essex and Suffolk Water’s treatment works has exceptional security standards and is resilient against attempted attack. This is all in addition to their 24/7 monitoring.

Essex and Suffolk Water chose our super-durable, LPCB StronGuard SR3 palisade fencing system to protect the integrity of its site and safety of its product. This solution is purpose-built to withstand persistent attacks for up to 5 minutes and delivers outstanding performance, long-term resilience and an effective deterrent.

Our team pulled out all the stops to achieve installation in a tight timeframe and at an affordable cost. This in part is thanks to StronGuard SR3 being able to follow sloping ground without any time-consuming on-site modifications.

The product was also hot dip galvanised at Barkers’ UK site to provide decades of resistance against weather, and minimal maintenance, meaning that Essex and Suffolk Water should satisfy regulatory requirements for years to come.
