Welder/Fabricator
Due to expansion we are looking for a number of experienced welder/fabricators to join our team and after a successful training period operate a second shift in a fast paced manufacturing plant. Applicants who can demonstrate previous experience of manufacturing fencing, gates and posts are invited to apply.
Role requirements:
Operate all machinery & equipment safely and accurately & efficiently
Understand & follow Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessments & Method Statements
Fully conversant with all Health & Safety requirements associated with welding processes
MIG welding of Mild Steel components (other welding would be an advantage)
Read & interpret engineering/fabrication drawings
From the drawings, collect and assemble all components to manufacture posts/gates
Perform regular quality checks to ensure all work meets standards and requirements
Work to tight deadlines
Ensure all work is of a very high standard
Have a flexible and adaptable approach to other tasks as and when required
Expected Competencies and behaviours:
Ability to understand oral and written instructions of a technical nature
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Effective reading and writing communication skills
Good numeracy skills
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
Can do attitude

Plant Operatives
From time to time employment opportunities arise within Barkers for Powder Coating Operatives, Galvanizing Operatives and Fabrication Operatives.
Operatives will be required to safely operate their work area, using their own initiative as well as working as part of a team to maximise production. Any necessary training for each production areas will be provided for each plant. Once competent operatives may be asked to train other personnel when necessary.
Applicants must be able to deliver quality work whilst working in our fast-paced production environment. As well as being able to safely operate the required machinery. utilise lifting equipment where appropriate and adhere to health and safety policies.
It is imperative that applicants are reliable and physically fit to be able to meet the demands of our fast-paced production.
